Cato's Letters; or Essays on Liberty, Civil and Religious, and Other Important Subjects

"Cato's Letters" of the 1720s were published in London, but were widely read by America's revolutionary leaders. In particular, these essays helped to disseminate John Locke's ideas about power, liberty, and the fundamental rights of the people throughout the American colonies.
